Two red roses in a garden,
the buds newly bloomed,
its velvety petals coloured red-
a perfect shade between the pink and crimson.
The sun shined upon them with glee,
but the roses did not look up at he,
for they were lost in the other's glory.
Reborn into a fairytale garden,
the red roses were struck by Cupid-
Oh! the cunning, vicious snake-
golden arrows did pierce them softly,
the roses red,
its petals red,
in deep doom, they fell.
But no arrow could stop the inevitable;
One of the roses shed a petal red,
and fear crept into the heart of her lover.
The Red Lover Rose, The He Rose,
at home with sunshine and roses,
could not handle his lover's tender heart
as all the walls came crashing down.
(the curse of love)
What did the He Rose do?
Before she could shed more petals
and let him see her most vulnerable, tenderest parts,
parts that must be tended to carefully,
he uprooted himself from the fairytale garden
and walked away in feverish haste,
only to look at himself, stun and shook!
More than half naked was he,
all but one petal was left on him.
The She Rose cried amidst his petals.
For a while she did.
He left when he could have stayed
she whispered.
I stood by him through it all,
watching him undress his petals,
pouring him with sweet sweet love,
only to see us fall
She mourned.
But that was all she said of him,
the last time she cried for him.
The She Rose thus realised her true worth
and tended for herself in the garden
of endless possibilities.
